Ra, Candle Sharpener
A candle Sharpener in brass designed 2025 by K&B in collaboration with Svenskt Tenn.
It allows larger candles to be easily trimmed to fit smaller candleholders.
The design is inspired by the Egyptian sun god Ra, a symbol of light, warmth, and creation. The shape recalls how Ra was often depicted: as a man with a falcon head and a solar disk above. According to mythology, Ra travelled across the sky by day and through the underworld by night, fighting darkness to ensure the sun’s return. With its sculptural form, the Ra Candle Sharpener is both a beautiful detail and a functional tool.
